A new Republican hospital will be built in Tbilisi

A new Republican hospital will be built in Tbilisi. During a meeting of the Georgian government chaired by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the construction of new hospital in Tbilisi on the basis of the Republican Hospital.

One of the main issues discussed at the meeting concerned the draft government resolution “On measures to implement a number of issues in connection with the new project of LLC ‘Central University Clinic named after Academician Nikoloz Kipshidze’”.

The Prime Minister noted that according to experts, the reconstruction of the current building is ineffective and unjustified from a financial point of view. Instead, it is proposed to demolish the old building and build a new multidisciplinary medical facility of international level in its place.

It is planned that the new Republican Hospital will provide more than 500 beds, and also include outpatient clinics and day hospitals with more than 100 beds. The structure of the clinic will include a children's oncology and hematology center, as well as a Central Blood Bank of modern standards.

It was noted that the rights of medical personnel working in the clinic will be fully protected, and compensation packages will be provided. Compliance with labor standards will be monitored by the Labor Inspection Service under the Ministry of Health.
