The achievement level of children in Georgian schools has declined. International Student Assessment Program PISA published a 2022 report assessing student achievement in reading, math and science. Compared to 2018, student scores in reading and math deteriorated by 6 and 8 points, respectively, but in science they improved by 1 point.

The study also found that private school students achieve better results than public school students. The best performance indicators were recorded in Tbilisi, while the worst were recorded in various villages. In addition, statistics have shown that Georgian girls study slightly better than boys.
According to the overall rating, Georgia took 60th place out of 81. The best results in the world were demonstrated by schoolchildren from Singapore.
