The number of measles cases in Georgia is growing. In January of this year alone, 16 cases of measles were recorded, which significantly exceeds the number of cases for the entire previous year of 2023, when only 26 cases were noted. Particularly troubling is the fact that the majority of those infected – people aged 20 to 40 years.

Director of Central Children's Hospital named after Iashvili, Ivane Chkhaidze, noted that although the situation cannot be called catastrophic, measles outbreaks in various countries highlight the need to take action. Parents are strongly advised to vaccinate their children on time to protect them from this dangerous infection.
