Artificial Intelligence created the address of Elizabeth II

Every year since 1952, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain prepares a New Year's speech in which she addresses her people. Despite all the circumstances, the Queen offered congratulations and noted the results of 2020.

But 2020 simply could not end with a traditional appeal – after the official speech, British TV channel Channel-4 began broadcasting an “alternative address” from the Queen, which was created using a deepfake program involving an actress and pseudo-royal scenery.

“At the BBC I was not always able to speak out openly and sincerely.”

"...so I'm grateful to Channel 4 for giving me the opportunity to say what I think is right without anyone using me to spread their personal thoughts."

The Queen decided to make such frankness in her New Year's speech, published on the pages of the Channel 4 television company on social networks.

To create such incredibly believable photo and video materials, neural networks must learn to process as much visual content as possible and analyze it in order to create the most identical copy of the object under study.

Deepfake – don't believe your eyes!

Channel 4 stress that the main purpose of this artificial speech created using deepfake is a “serious warning”, namely – discovering the potential of fake news and fake evidence to manipulate the human community.

You can watch the artificial speech of Elizabeth II for yourself:

The director of the Channel 4 television company expressed his thoughts on deepfake as follows: “This video will serve as a powerful reminder that we can no longer fully trust our eyes.”
