In the hall of the US Senate, on the solemn February 13, a decision was made to approve a bill on foreign assistance in the total amount of 95.3 billion dollars. This significant document distributed funds among several countries, including Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
US aid package for Ukraine includes $60 billion
The massive US defense aid package for Ukraine includes $60 billion, $14.1 billion for Israel, and $4.8 billion for Indo-Pacific partner countries, including Taiwan. Particular attention was paid to humanitarian assistance to the civilian population in the Gaza Strip, for which $9.2 billion was allocated.

After approval in the Senate, the bill heads to the House of Representatives, where Republicans dominate the vote. It is known that most of them spoke out against this package, especially in terms of support for Ukraine. But Speaker of the US House of Representatives – Mike Johnson will not be able not to put this law to a vote, based on the rules of the regulations.
“The House will have to find its way forward and they will get the job done, but it was important to start this process and we did it”, – Republican Senator John Thune emphasized.
Defense aid bill to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan was approved by the US Senate
It is worth noting that the defense assistance bill for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan was approved by the US Senate last week, after introducing a separate aid package for Israel. It is important to mention that the proposal also contained a bipartisan border agreement, however, Republican senators opposed it, hearing criticism from Donald Trump and Republican leaders in the House of Representatives.

Thus, the US Senate took a significant step by approving a bill of defense assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, which, however, did not affect aspects of US border policy, an agreement on which was never adopted.
