Two Georgian volunteers died in the war in Ukraine

The participation of Georgian volunteers in military operations in Ukraine led to the death of many Georgian citizens. Two Georgian volunteers died in the war in Ukraine. The death of Gocha Zhvania and Zura Tsiklauri on the Eastern Front was the latest tragic chapter in a list of casualties that includes the names of men and women who died in various regions of Ukraine at the hands of Russian occupation forces.

Since February 24, 2022, 56 Georgian and Ukrainian volunteers of Georgian origin have already died in the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine.

This list, although sad, reflects the determination of Georgian citizens to support Ukraine in the fight for its independence and territorial integrity. Their deaths demonstrate the high price Georgians are willing to pay for their beliefs and principles. After all 20% of Georgian territory is occupied by Russia. Such losses should be a reminder that Georgia and Ukraine have a common occupying enemy.
